Must Have Been Those Butterflies is a collaboration of poetry with photo art strongly influenced by Nicole's personal experiences with lust, infatuation and love. The words and images shared in this book are real notions, created by her highly sensitive, emotional psyche. An expression of her most intimate, deepest thoughts, shared vividly and freely, meant to entice, inspire and enlighten an open minded, curious and emotionally intrigued audience.

The emotions in both the photos and the poetry are a reflextion of her complex personality--sensual, sexual, artistic, sadistic, intimate, aggressive, strong, sensitive, impatient, analytical, friendly, carefree, funny, loving, trusting, considerate--intertwining, toying and tangling her in and out of relationships.

The intention of this poetry and photography book is to express the emotional torments that tease the soul and taunt the heart on behalf of the millions of hidden, shunned, shamed, unexplained, damaged, jaded, sorry, degraded, sad, angry, betrayed, forgotten, and alas, broken, hearts. May the reader find comfort and encouragement, inspiration and realization in her words and images; rest knowing one is not alone in the lonely world of lost loves. Although she's had her fair share of emotional battles and scars, she vows to never lose hope in finding true happiness, as she follows hers: Butterflies.

    From the day our lips met,
    Within a kiss, my mind, set.

    This Night

    Soothing sounds of this night,
    Toads, secadas, crickets delight.
    Swinging, so gently, in your arms,
    Breathe with ease, touch warm.

    Flames glow softly, light your face,
    Your kisses glide my lips with grace.
    This night, is so very perfect!
    Our souls mating, in this moment.

    The most romantic night, of my life,

    A single red rose,
    Closest to pink,
    Her aroma:
    Appealing;
    A lady of interest.

    The prettiest rose,
    Bright tinge-yellow,
    Her scent:
    Intriguing;
    A woman to know.

    Laced with magenta,
    Soft velvet petals,
    Her essence:
    Alluring;
    An ever divine temple.

    Black Magic boasts,
    Deepest blood red,
    Her pheromones:
    Attracting;
    A lover in the end.

    Often, you are to me
    A friend to count on, endlessly.

    Devotion to Love

    Hopeless now that I'm devoted
    To someone so far away,
    Yet, close inside.
    All this thinking-
    Giving me a headache,
    Fathoming thoughts of suicide.

    How will I ever
    See Him again?
    Now that sweet summer
    Has gone.
    Autumn winds prevail,
    Sweeping against my skin.

    He's a child at heart,
    Playing games at His own risk,
    Sometimes,
    I don't know if I could trust Him,
    Anymore than I wish.

    Alas, love is too strong for my heart,
    Depression replacing happiness,
    I had once, at the start.
    Opening up to Him,
    I tell Him what fills my needs,
    I take Him there with me now,
    Beneath my wings,
    Planting love seeds.

    Promising, with my every word,
    That I will never forget Him,
    Comprehending, what is heard,
    A promise, of love, from within.


    Words With Meaning

    Sweetheart,

    You are the only one for me;
    A man of love, faith, honesty.
    You are true to my heart,
    Tender, to my emotions,
    You are the priority, of all my devotions.

    You sweep me from the grounds we walk,
    There's positive charisma, in your gentle talk.
    It is you, my lovely, who keeps my head up high,
    With smiling eyes, the happiest cry.

    You are the sole provider of affection for me,
    Each new day advances, towards our destiny.
    The future is brighter, than ever before!
    Together, happiness, we shall endure.

    Forever we will be, forever we will stay,
    For you, I would do anything, on any given day.
    You are mine, and I am yours, nothing, can dilute our bond,
    Ours is an endless river, a timeless love song.

    I love you darling, more than anything in this world of
