"IT IS SAID THAT CHILDREN JOURNEYING TO THE NEW WORLD,
DO NOT JOURNEY ALONE. THEY ARE BOUND, BY THE WATERS OF LIFE,
TO AN ANIMAL OF THE WILD. BOTH GET THEIR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
FROM EACH OTHER, AND IN TURN, THEY MUST JOURNEY THROUGH LIFE TOGETHER."
She was born radiant — and the moment she drew breath, a gray buffalo drew his first breath too.
In the ancient lands of the Deer-Clan, Lightning-ShiningBright enters the world as something miraculous: a child of such impossible beauty that even the outcast family that bore her is welcomed back into the warmth of the village fire. Bound by fate to Ash, a silver-gray buffalo unlike any seen before, the two share something far deeper than friendship — a sacred bond that lets them feel each other’s pain, sense each other’s fear, and draw from each other’s strength.
But when the Shaman decrees that Lightning must marry into the feared and treacherous Coyote-Clan, the bond becomes a target.
High on a mountain village of breathtaking beauty that hides a darkness deeper than any desert night, Lightning begins to see the truth: the wedding was never about alliance. It was about conquest. The Coyote-Clan’s spell-weaver is quietly turning the sacred bond into a weapon — one that could strip the Deer-Clan of their land, their spirit, and their freedom without a single arrow being fired.
Hundreds of miles away, Ash grows dim and still. And as the buffalo fades, so does Lightning.
But she is not a woman who grows smaller in a small space.
The Beauty, The Buffalo, and The Coyote’s Spell is a sweeping tale of courage, sacrifice, and an unbreakable bond that no spell can truly sever — as long as those who love her refuse to let go.
