First octavo edition (22.5 x 14.5cm). A scarce coloured copy, published at 6 guineas, most copies having been broken in the post-war period by the print trade. One volume bound in two. Vol. I, pp. xxiv,178; Vol. II, pp. 179-407. The half-title bound at the front of the second volume. With 149 lithographs all with contemporary colour. The title & first few leaves a little foxed, the plates however printed on better paper are quite clean & fresh. Bound in contemporary half morocco, gilt, with new twin labels & marbled boards & endpapers. Lighty rubbed, with some loss of gilt to spines, head of spine second volume slightly chipped. With the engraved armorial bookplate of Henry B.H. Beaufoy, F.R.S., hot-air balloonist, M.P. and owner of the four Shakespeare folios. Vg.
