Item description from seller

The Royal Navy's last new destroyer design to participate in WWII was the Battle class of which there were 16 in the first group and eight in a second batch, with two other ships built in Australia. The class was designed for the Pacific War, but only a few ships were worked up before hostilities ended. An unusual feature of the class was grouping the main armament in two foward twin turrets. The last of the RN ships was disposed of in the early 1970s A scarce, but quality, reference for the warship buff. First published February 1971, this first preprint April 1972. 64 pages, b/w photos throughout plus detail drawings, diagrams and side profile line drawings. 12 ship crests in colour on two facing pages. Blue hard covers with gilt spine titles VG+, text block excellent, no inscriptions. Pictorial DJ (colour and mono) price clipped and also VG+.
