Paperback. Inside "Bats, Rats, & Alley Cats Too" are thirty funny but strange sci-fi and fantasy stories, each with an unexpected twist. In one tale, a backyard pirate ship is considered a neighborhood eyesore until it is shown to possess an amazing ability. In another story, a man is abducted by aliens, but this report is from the suffering aliens' point of view. A doctor answers a typical house call and encounters a shocking medical crisis caused by an unearthly element. Three incompetent vacationing salvage dudes think they have discovered an underwater meteorite full of gold, but it is full of something quite different. Crafting an "alternative" piece of wood releases a genie who grants three less-than-desirable "alternative" wishes. A witch works miracles as a hospital pharmacist until somebody messes with her cauldron. In the future, two clumsy robot butlers do not realize they have locked out the valid homeowners and are in big trouble when the couple finally gets back indoors. And why is there a well-fed alley cat floating above the Rocky Mountains at ten thousand feet? These thirty tales should be appropriate for anyone who enjoys a surprising twist at the end of a story, from early teens, twelve and up, through nursing home residents with escape plans.
