About the Author

Maria Carme Roca (Barcelona, 1955) �s llicenciada en Filosofia i Lletres (Hist�ria) i en Filologia Catalana (Literatura) i durant anys es dedic� a l’ensenyament. L’any 1997 va publicar la seva primera obra, i des d’aleshores no ha parat d’escriure. Amb una setantena de llibres publicats, ha conreat la literatura infantil i juvenil, el conte curt, l’assaig i la novel�la. Pel que fa a la novel�la, s’ha especialitzat en novel�la hist�rica (El monestir proscrit, Barcino, Escollida pels d�us, L’enigma Colom, La merla blava, La noia del club...). Ha obtingut diversos premis literaris, com ara el Lola Anglada de contes infantils, el Barcanova de literatura infantil (Akanuu, l’arquer persa), el N�stor Luj�n de novel�la hist�rica (Intrigues de palau) i premis de literatura juvenil com el Bancaixa (Qui �s el de la foto?), el Joaquim Ruyra (Katalepsis) o el Barcanova (Selfi es al cementiri). La seva novel�la A punt d’estrena (2016) va rebre el Premi L’Illa dels Llibres per votaci� popular, i amb la novel�la El far va guanyar el Premi Prudenci Bertrana el 2018.
