Neuware - A loving community can make all the difference for life in a small town. Wayne Ballard learned this when he found himself serving in Bristol, a city that straddles the line between Virginia and Tennessee. After a previous place of service had left him feeling tired and ineffective, Ballard sought affirmation and healing. As an interim pastor at First Baptist Church of Bristol, he found the community he needed to revive his enthusiasm for ministry and encourage others in their relationships with God.This book compiles Ballard's encouragements and reflections written for the church's weekly bulletin. As a collection of devotionals, Glimpses from State Street provides a wealth of insights and new ways to consider and develop our fellowship with Christ. It also serves as a window into the relationship between a small town pastor and a welcoming congregation. Through the church announcements, beautiful photographs, and Ballard's anecdotes of family and friends in Bristol, we join the First Baptist Church as they traverse life's hills and valleys together in southern Appalachia.…
