Violet Hart has spent the last two years building the perfect life.
She owns a cozy little bakery, spends her mornings frosting cupcakes with her best friend Christina, and dreams of nothing bigger than growing her business one satisfied customer at a time. Magic, monsters, and destiny only exist in fantasy novels.
Until a single crimson thread appears inside one of her cakes.
Within hours, Violet is hunted by a creature made of living shadow, rescued by a brooding stranger with golden eyes, and taken to a hidden fortress where werewolves rule from the darkness. According to the intimidating Alpha, Max, an ancient enemy has marked her for death... and an impossible supernatural bond has tied her soul to his.
Max never expected fate to choose a human.
Especially one who smells like vanilla, wears pink hair with unapologetic confidence, and challenges him at every turn. Protecting Violet means keeping her imprisoned inside his pack's fortress, even if every day she spends there makes her hate him a little more-and every heartbeat she takes makes the bond between them harder to resist.
As an ancient darkness closes in and secrets surrounding Violet's past begin to unravel, she'll have to decide whether to fight for the ordinary life she lost... or embrace a destiny that could save both humans and wolves.
Because some recipes are written by hand.
Others are written by fate.
A slow-burn paranormal fantasy romance featuring a cozy bakery, a grumpy Alpha with a soft heart, fated mates, found family, dangerous magic, and enough cinnamon and cupcakes to warm even the wildest beast.
