Zustand: Hervorragend | Seiten: 380 | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | "A. Hardy Roper, Bad Moon Rising is his best story yet!"If you have read A. Hardy Roper's three previous thrillers set on Galveston Island, then you know Parker McLeod. The easy-going owner of The Garhole Bar, Parker is at his best with a cold beer in his hand and a beautiful woman at his side. While he never goes out looking for danger, somehow it seems to find him. Bad Moon Rising, Hardy's latest book about this enigmatic but likable character is no exception. Parker's beloved grandfather had used the phrase "bad moon rising" as a warning when a dangerous storm appeared on the horizon. Parker now claims ownership of the expression as the "bad moon" of terrorism comes to the island.Characters in this fast-paced novel are exquisitely drawn: A beautiful scientist from Germany who is the new Assistant Director of the Gulf Coast Level 4 Biological Lab; the Secretary of Homeland Security, in Galveston for a routine inspection; Islamic terrorists intent on revenge against the Secretary; and Parker-a former Army Intel officer with a personal vendetta against one of the terrorists. Add the FBI, NSA, CIA, Secret Service and local police and the intensity ratchets up with every page. The terrorists will use any means available including kidnapping, coercion and threats, to kill the Secretary. When the first attempt fails, the terrorists devise a scheme to use a deadly pathogen. During a raging winter storm, Parker must race through flooded streets and dark alleyways to try and prevent a cataclysmic event for the usually sun-filled city of Galveston. If you like thrillers, Bad Moon Rising is a must read.…

Store description
