Paperback. Back to Square One: A Sequel to Back to One is a poignant exploration of friendship, love, loss, and the unexpected ways life brings us full circle. In this emotional and compelling sequel, Back to Square One picks up with Kikile, who, after introducing her best friend and lover, Taigar, to a woman she believes would be perfect for him, finds herself unexpectedly drawn into a deeper connection. Kikile becomes close to Nandi, who changes the course of her life in ways she never imagined. The two women form a bond, both as friends and as mothers, raising their children together. But tragedy strikes when Nandi dies, leaving Kikile to navigate a world without her, while also reflecting on her past.As Kikile comes to terms with the loss, the narrative takes us back to her life before meeting Nandi. It's revealed that Kikile and Nandi shared many missed connections that could have changed everything. Through this journey, Kikile finds herself reuniting with dear friends from her secondary school and university days, offering her a chance to heal her wounds of abandonment and grow after the heart-wrenching losses of friendship and family. In a surprising turn, Kikile forms new bonds that lead her to the start of new chapters. Together with her old friends, they embark on many journeys of rediscovery, loss, and love, deciding in the end to commit to each other as chosen family. As Kikile faces the past, embraces the present, and steps into the future, she realizes that sometimes life brings us back to where we started, she realises she does not need to be perfect to be deserving of love, just ready to make a new beginning when the opportunity presents itself.
