Some wear to extremities with corners bumped,darkening of front board edge and some edge spotting; otherwise a very good copy. Neat inscription on front pastedown. Illustrated by 163 pages of black and white photographic plates (one with transparent overlay) including frontispiece and by 179 text figures, including maps. The most comprehensive work on British vegetation by Sir Arthur George Tansley, F.L.S., F.R.S. (1871-1955), botanist and pioneer ecologist. Standard work on British vegetation history.
