The men and woman of Air Transport Auxiliary. War time. 8vo . 248 pages ,original wine coloured hardcovers , title in gold lettering on front and spine. Spine slightly sunned, and also a small amount on rear edges. Front and rear paste down and free end papers have spotting although not bad.Previouse owners signature and date on front paste down . The A.T.A. were civilians in uniform who played a part in the Battle of Britain . They brought the airplanes to the squadrons by night and day even in foul weather.The Foreword was written by Lord Beaverbrook, these were very remarkable and very brave men and woman.
