A 'curl up with a coffee,' read, The Boutique is a collection of nine gritty, compelling, and poignant short stories. The nine personalities, eight women and one man connect through their appreciation of the fashion shop that is, The Boutique.
When the talk about fashion tapers, we're taken beyond the doors of The Boutique and deeper into their lives, leading to dramatic and unpredictable storylines, with unexpected plot twists.
The Boutique is a modern-day short story book. It reveals the power and resilience of the human spirit. And it shows that a troublesome or traumatic past does not have to define us or hold us back as we strive for happiness and purpose.
Which character will you identify with the most? You may find your best bits in every one of them...
Chapter 1 Jake. Manager of The Boutique, how will Jake react when his past catches up with him? And why does Steph press his buttons big time?
Chapter 2 Becky. Jake's favourite customer. Is there more to Becky beyond fashion and frivolity? And why is today's meeting so symbolic for her?
Chapter 3 Holly. Why is that beautiful satin jacket so important but will she get to wear it? Can Holly dig deeper than ever before to break free?
Chapter 4 Amy. After living in a sterile and unnatural environment for her entire childhood, will Amy move forward to live the life of her dreams?
Chapter 5 Astrid. What sits behind Astrid's generosity and her love of designer labels? And why is that Cartier watch so cherished?
Chapter 6 Mary. Lovely, dependable Mary. Why is she having to step outside of her comfort zone and will she ever wear that blouse?
Chapter 7 Caroline. Can she see the gift in the unfolding drama of the day? And why is that sumptuous trouser suit at the centre of it all?
Chapter 8 Sophie. Bold, fearless and firm, can she manage the biggest challenge of her life to date? Or will she buckle at the last minute?
Chapter 9 Kelly. Owner of The Boutique. Will her reluctance to stand in the spotlight hold her back or, can Kelly thrive despite the butterflies?
Immerse yourself in their stories and enjoy!

About the Author
Dee has been a creative writer and avid storyteller from just eight years old. Her fascination with words, woven into stories continued at secondary school. Influenced by the careers' advisor telling her she should write stories for a living, she embarked on a career in marketing. She has spent the last 41 years merrily creating copy for her clients. During this time, Dee has also enjoyed training people in the art of producing compelling and engaging content, winning several awards for her work along the way. She then turned to authoring books. Dee really found her feet with her second book which became an international best-seller, leading to a publishing deal in China. Global publisher, Wiley, produced her third book and in the last few years she has picked up a couple of reader awards for two of her books.
When it comes to putting pen to paper, creative writing and storytelling remain Dee's first love. She now has more time on her hands to write without interruption and so has penned her first fiction book, The Boutique. Will there be a sequel? It depends on what readers say!
Born in Leeds, in the North of England, Dee lives in West Sussex with her husband, a mere stone's throw from her two married sons. She has a gorgeous little grandson who visits grandma and granddad every Friday and enjoys indulging her youngest son's French bulldog Psmith (with a silent P). He sleeps over every Wednesday.
Dee loves talking to aspiring authors, encouraging them from the sidelines and on occasion rolling up her sleeves and acting as an author mentor.
