5" x 7 1/2", 242 pp. + 2 p. ads, maroon cloth with debossed gilt Boston city seal and titling to front board, gilt titling to spine, 2 illustrated fold-out maps bound in. In Very Good Plus condition: some minor bumping and slight wear to corner tips and spine ends, with spine head edge a bit softened as well; light soiling, mostly to back board. See photo enlarged; a handsome copy. Internally excellent with only dark age-toning to the front endpaper and a small misfold crease on one of the two fold-out maps; otherwise fine. Part of the 'Historic Towns' series edited by A.E. Freeman and W. Hunt, this title authored by the venerable Henry Cabot Lodge (1850-1924). A comprehensive history of Boston from its Puritan beginnings through Colonial times, its prominent place in the American revolution, the Civil War, and beyond. A fine volume in VG+ condition.
