(Subject: Battleground Europe - World War II) A battlefield guide by Philip Vickers designed for both the battlefield visitor and the armchair traveller. The historical significance of each site is described in detail with the aid of maps and photographs. SS-Das Reich Division was at Montauban in SW France when the Allies invaded Normandy. Ordered to rush north, they ran into a series of French Resistance, SAS and SOE delaying actions. The battle-hardened division reacted ruthlessly and their reprisals culminated in the massacre at Oradour. Terms of sale
Military History Books was founded many years ago in London and, several iterations later, it's now in the capable and expert hands of Armed Forces Veterans based in the sunny South-West of England. The 7,000+ book inventory will be available on AbeBooks early in 2025 and one of the first tasks will be to append photographs and full descriptions to as many of the listings as possible; a huge task, as we're sure you'll agree.
Operating from a large, temperature and humidity controlled building, we don't just sell books but also Magazines (mainly Aviation & Modelling) and Technical Publications. Obviously, the more we sell, the more we have to replace, so if you find yourself with a surplus quantity of titles of a military nature (and that covers all 3 Services throughout the world (plus 'Space', come to think of it!); get in touch and talk to us.
We look forward to being of service.
