We use Canada Post as our shipping agent.
For all of Canada the post office has introduced a 10 X 14 X 2" "Flat Rate Box" that has a maximum weight of 5 Kg (11 lbs) and a delivery rate of 1 - 7 days depending on destination. It costs C$18.99 plus tax and includes insurance and tracking number. The box is large enough to hold one (1) oversized cookbook for example, or two average sized books, or a number of smaller books. Which means you can save money on shipping by purchasing more than one book at a time and you don't have to worry about extra postage charges for most larger items.
For the United States postage rates are based on size and destination. Our posted rates are based on books weighing 1 Kg (2.2 lbs). You may be asked for additional funds if the book weighs over 1 Kg. (2.2 lbs). Tracking and insurance are included for most U.S. destinations.
Tracking and insurance are available for only some overseas destinations and it is very expensive and would require additional funds. Books weighing 500 grams or less will often go by air-mail, books weighing between 500 g and 1 kg will be shipped by sea and land - with air mail being available at additional cost.
If you see a book you'd like to have but have questions about the postage, please feel free to e-mail me at cookbook@intergate.ca.
