In a universe where the threads of fate are woven by unseen hands, Lucen Thorne, a seemingly ordinary young man, discovers a hidden power within himself that defies the laws of reality. Orphaned at a young age, Lucen’s world has always been filled with unanswered questions—especially about his mother’s mysterious disappearance. But on his sixteenth birthday, an unexpected discovery in his childhood home changes everything.
A forgotten artifact, an ancient medallion, awakens something deep inside him—something magical, something that could alter the course of the universe itself.
When Lucen learns of a rare and prestigious Universe Expedition, a journey that wealthy families send their children on to explore the wonders of space, he believes his chance to escape his dull, impoverished life has passed. However, a mysterious letter arrives, offering him a chance to prove himself in a test that could grant him entry into the expedition. Though he’s never been brilliant or rich, Lucen takes the risk—and against all odds, he is chosen.
Onboard the expedition’s starship, Lucen joins a group of talented yet flawed companions, including the arrogant Juno Redd, a boy who seems to have everything figured out but whose pride quickly puts him at odds with Lucen and the others. As they travel across the cosmos to unexplored realms, Lucen begins to unravel the truth behind his mother’s disappearance and the secret powers at play in the universe.
But not everything is as it seems. The expedition, once thought to be a simple journey of exploration, hides dark truths about the manipulation of time, space, and the forces that govern fate itself. Lucen must confront betrayals, face impossible challenges, and learn to control his newfound abilities, all while the very fabric of the cosmos threatens to tear apart.
In The Axis: Where Stars Remember, and Fate Begins, the journey is as much about discovering the universe as it is about discovering who Lucen truly is—and the destiny he is meant to fulfill. As cosmic forces clash and time bends around him, Lucen will be forced to choose between saving his friends, uncovering the truth about his mother, and preventing an ancient, destructive power from unraveling the stars themselves.

Store description

We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
