2023 OUP hardcover edition. Unread copy in very good condition. From the dustjacket: The text argues against the conventional epistemological view that 'S is aware of the fact that p' is equivalent to or entails 'S knows that p.' It posits that factual awareness is distinct from knowledge, meaning it does not necessitate knowing, being in a position to know, or being capable of knowing. Instead, the book argues that knowledge is a specific type of factual awareness, with awareness being the more fundamental state. This approach seeks to explain objective reasons and the nature of knowledge through factual awareness, challenging the 'knowledge first' perspective in recent epistemology.
