Sleep is not just a biological function, it is a mirror of our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Yet millions are struggling.
✔ 50–70 million U.S. adults suffer from sleep or wakefulness disorders
✔ Children today sleep significantly less than recommended
✔ Sleep deprivation costs the U.S. $411 billion every year
✔ Pregnancy and postpartum periods are among the most sleep-disrupted phases of life
Despite this, most adults and families are given only generic sleep tips or advice that does not take their lifestyle, history, stress, emotional state, or health patterns into account. As a result, the true root causes of sleep challenges remain unaddressed.
A groundbreaking guide by the founder of the Holistic Science of Sleep Method™Written by Mar De Carlo, founder of the International Parenting & Health Institute and the Association of Professional Sleep Consultants, this book introduces the first holistic pregnancy, adult, and child sleep methodology, a system introduced in 2011, now taught in 70+ countries and 9 languages.
Rather than offering one-size-fits-all sleep advice, this book takes you through a complete mind-body-lifestyle evaluation, empowering you to identify the real contributors to sleep disturbances.
Inside, you will discover:-
The physiological and psychological shifts that alter sleep during pregnancy and postpartum
-
Why so many adults struggle with insomnia, night waking, and chronic fatigue
-
How childhood sleep issues are family issues, influenced by connection, environment, rhythm, and unmet needs
-
The Holistic Science of Sleep Method™, used globally by medical and integrative practitioners
-
How health history, trauma, stress patterns, nutrition, hormones, sensory processing, and lifestyle shape sleep
-
Tools for nervous system regulation, environmental optimization, relationship repair, and conscious communication
-
How to support families gently, respectfully, and without sleep training
-
A clear path to restoring harmony, resilience, and well-being through the lens of sleep
Whether you are:
✔ a parent
✔ an adult struggling with sleep
✔ a health or wellness practitioner
✔ a sleep consultant seeking deeper education
…this guide will expand your understanding of sleep far beyond standard behavioral models.
A book that transforms the way we think about sleepAwakening Through Sleep invites you to see sleep as a lifelong journey of healing, self-awareness, and connection, not a problem to be fixed. Through the holistic lens, sleep becomes not only restorative, but awakening.
