Add to basketBoston, July 22, 1887. 5pp. on Robinson's lined stationery with his "Inventor's Head" letterhead. A long, irate letter castigating Flint for failing to send "maps and papers of the silver property," and thereby putting the transaction in jeopardy. Robinson begins, "You assume to know more about my facilities for placing Mining property than I do myself. You further assume that because you fail to place property in London that I must necessarily fail also. Pardon me, but your loose business methods, if there were no other reasons, would be in my judgment, be sufficient to account for your failure to transact business," and continues from there. Robinson's greatest achievement was the invention of the track circuit, making possible the automatic block system which is used on most major lines today. In 1881 Robinson sold his holdings in the Union Electric Signal Company to George Westinghouse who reorganized it as the Union Switch & Signal Company.
