,[6], xv, [1], 330 pages, [2], half title, title (in English) and illlustrated title page ( In German), preface in German and English where Chrysander makes it clear that he regards the Sacred Harmonic Society's earlier 1868 version as a "faulty & unworthy facsimile", photo-lithographed plates of Handel's score for The Messiah with blank page between page 2 and 3 with inscription written in 1780 "Here, part of the overture, and the beginning of the recit: - Comfort ye my people, are wanting" showing where a page was lost of the original manuscript. First Edition thus , wear to top and tail of spine, small bumps to corners, light foxing to endpapers and previous owner's name to front free endpaper, calf corners missing, pages clean, very good condition, , quarter red calf, black boards, gilt title to spine, blindstamped border to calf, marbled edges , oblong folio, 27 cm x 33 cm Hardback ISBN.
