Two page autograph letter on Department to the Navy embossed letterhead. 20 lines in Peary's distinctive hand. Letter in fine condition. Also included is a single issue of a 1905 magazine of which the article relates. The magazine has a few minor tears but is in very good overall condition This interesting autograph letter from Robert Peary is addressed to the editor of The Youth's Companion, Mr. Rideing, a family orientated magazine published in Boston Mass. The letter discusses the future article Peary will write for the magazine. He talks about the length of the article, potential title of the article, number of illustrations, and how soon the copy was required. Of course money comes up and Peary remembers a sum of $100.00 for the work. Accompanying the letter is the original magazine where the article was published, July 6th, 1905.
