Paperback. Our era is characterised by enormous technologicaldevelopments. Only a thorough analysis of current scientific thinkingwill be able to show which aspects of it will be beneficial for futurecivilisation. The humanities and natural sciences must engage with eachother in order to regain access to the reality of a world that today, under the demands of progress in the positive sciences, has beenreduced to mere linguistic descriptions, largely in the form ofalgorithms. Aurora and Centaur endeavours to reconstruct the epistemology ofGoethes world view, as elaborated by Rudolf Steiner, in order tocombine the rigour of the positive sciences with the creativity typicalof the arts. In doing so, Steiner paved the way for the development of anew form of science that is capable of grasping different levels ofnatural being, including life itself, based on the free activity of theexperiencing subject. Aurora and Centaur examines the limitations of the modern positive sciences, reduced to mere linguistic descriptions, largely in the form of algorithms. It then reconstructs the epistemology of Goethes worldview, elaborated by Rudolf Steiner, combining the rigour of thepositive sciences with the creativity typical of the arts and of life itself.
