The diverse forms and variegated, often brilliant, colors of birds make them especially effective as designs in stained glass projects. Now craftspeople working in this art can select motifs from this excellent collection of bird patterns skillfully rendered by designer Carol Krez. Based on the celebrated bird paintings of John James Audubon, 60 striking, boldly outlined illustrations depict these species in characteristic poses amid natural surroundings: red-winged blackbird; indigo bunting; Northern cardinal; black-capped chickadee; passenger pigeon; tufted titmouse; blue-winged warbler; cedar waxwing; evening grosbeak; ruby-crowned kinglet; Northern oriole; rufous-sided towhee; white-winged cardinal; painted bunting; and many more.Ideal for a host of attractive, nature-oriented stained glass projects, the distinctive, royalty-free patterns each with an identifying caption and often including both male and female figures are also suitable for a variety of craft activities.
