This theatre text's monologues are highly original works not found in other published versions. All are from recently produced plays from both established and emerging new writers. The fifty selections are for actors ten to twenty-four years of age, suitable for competitive auditions, forensics, oral interpretation, or acting exercises. The monolog collection is divided equally between male and female characters, with various pieces for minority actors. These monologs address today's major trends and conflicts by revealing glimpses of society as we know it. Includes the work of forty contemporary playwrights. A must for any auditioning actor or theatre student. The monologs range in length from one minute to ten minutes.
