This book comprises Dale's Congregational Library Lectures and are considered by many to be the best book he wrote and one of the best on the subject of the atonement. It helped Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones to a better understanding of the work of Christ and is highly rated by John Stott and Alec Motyer. He gives a very helpful listing of all the Scriptures that relate to the subject of the Atonement. The way Dale tackles the subject, and his interaction with unbeliving scholars who objected to the idea of a substitutionary atonement, you are left with the feeling, 'This is what the Bible teaches'. A reset edition with a foreword by Alec Motyer.
