Small Quarto. Tome I, Fac. 1-2; Tome II, Fac. 1-2; Tome III, Fac. 1. French and Arabic text. One of the most important publications that have appeared in the history of Persian Islamic art. It is full of hitherto unpublished documents, principally historical inscriptions from the monuments, of which the original text as well as the translation is given, and is illustrated by hundreds photographs, including several hundred of M. Godards own admirable photographs of architectural monuments and details, some of which are exceptionally fine, and by a dozen of his plans and many more other drawings, all done on fine paper. Each book bound in stiff paper wraps lettered and decorated in bklack and red, spine lettered in black, small short closed trear to head of spine of volume one and a bit of wrinkling.
