A very good book in very handsome, very fresh bevelled edge red boards with decorations in black and bright gilt to front; the spine and its decoration is slightly faded with some loss of gilt, bumps at spine ends with two tiny rubs. Internally very good and free from inscriptions; 2" closed tear to first 'Contents' page; lovely illustrations by Leech both in the text and with all 13 full page coloured steel engravings present; scattered foxing but not very obtrusive.
