She gave up everything to save her sister. Now everything is coming to collect.
Five years ago, Sera Vane burned her own magic away in an act of desperate love a forbidden sacrifice that stripped her power to the bone and left her hollow. She rebuilt herself quietly in the human world: a coffee-stained apron, a small shop, a life that asked nothing of her she wasn't willing to give. It was enough.
Then the hunters came.
They wear the marks of rogue warlocks and move like smoke through a city that doesn't know magic exists. They are collecting power bloodline by bloodline and Sera's name is on their list. Powerless and exposed, she has no one to call.
Except, apparently, him.
Cael Morrow is the last man Sera wants standing in her doorway: cold, controlled, and the one who turned her in to the High Coven Council the night her life fell apart. But the Council has sent him to protect her, and Cael is carrying a secret that changes everything for the past five years, the power Sera sacrificed has been living inside him, burning him slowly from the inside out.
To survive, they must trust each other. To trust each other, they must face what really happened the night she lost everything.
And someone is watching both of them. Someone who knows exactly what Sera gave up and exactly what it would take to finish the job.
