First edition. Format, Octavo, 195mm. Physical description, [4], [1] 2 - 95 [1] blank. Plates III, folding. Title page dusty, lightly spotted and lightly soiled, last leaf similar, otherwise the contents are clean. Occasional somewhat acerbic light pencil noes by a previous owner. Sometime rebound in grey paper over boards, the spine with a new title label lettered in gilt. Overall, a very good copymof a book that is not often see for sale. This is the second of the Rev. Thomas Wright's (dates unknown) books on the subject. The water meadows in south Gloucestershire fascinated the Rev. Wright when he was appointed to the church in South Cerney , so much so that he published - An Account of the Advantage and Method of Watering Meadows by Art as practised in the County of Gloucester, 1789. The book was so successful he went on to publish the book offered here ten years later. Nine years later when he had been appointed to a church in Northamptonshire he published - On the Formation and Management of Floated Meadows, 1808.
