You are not failing because you are lazy. You are exhausted from trying to focus in a world built to interrupt you.
You sit down to work, study, read, or build something meaningful — but your attention keeps slipping away. You open the book, but reach for your phone. You start the course, but never finish it. You promise yourself you will focus today, but the day disappears into messages, scrolling, meetings, videos, notifications, and small urgent things that were never truly important.
By the evening, you are not only tired. You are disappointed. Another goal stayed unfinished. Another skill remained half-built. Another part of you wonders why you cannot stay consistent.
The Art of FOCUS in a Distracted World was written for that exact moment.
This book does not blame you. It shows what has happened to your attention — and gives you a practical system to rebuild it.
Prashant F Nikam challenges the belief that people fail because they are weak, lazy or undisciplined. Most people are trying to focus in environments designed to interrupt them. Screens, notifications, endless information and instant AI answers have made it easier than ever to feel productive while avoiding the deeper thinking that creates real growth.
At the centre of the book is the F.O.C.U.S. System:
F — Fortify Your Mind
Protect your attention before the world spends it for you.
O — Own Your Direction
Choose what deserves your mind before noise chooses for you.
C — Create Deep Work States
Build protected blocks where serious thinking, learning and creation can happen.
U — Upgrade Your Learning
Move beyond consuming information and begin retaining, applying and understanding it.
S — Sustain Mastery
Turn focus into identity, discipline, growth and lifelong learning.
Inside, you will learn how to rebuild concentration, reduce mental clutter, create deep work sessions, stop confusing information consumption with real learning, use AI without surrendering your judgement, and build a weekly operating system for focus, learning and mastery.
This book is for students, professionals, creators, leaders and lifelong learners who know they are capable of more, but feel pulled apart by modern life.
Not another productivity hack. Not another motivational slogan.
A practical reset for anyone ready to take their mind back.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
