1880 second edition, adding a new preface by the author. Lacks title/copyright page, boards rubbed with some loss along edges, stains to boards and a few pages, ink names on rear endpaper. viii, [9]-120 pp. Blue cloth, gilt titles, black stamped decorations. A scarce study of dance by the founder of a dancing academy in New York City, including comments on etiquette and general instruction, as well as guidance for particular types of dances. Originally published in 1879, the preface references 'urgent demand for a second edition.
