pp. xviii,180, Complete with 40 highly coloured plates. Very good in original half roan, minor rubbing on spine. A very nice copy of one of the finest of all the works on New Zealand botany. Gives a general coverage of New Zealand species, with descriptions of discovery, naming etc. The 40 locally-printed chromolithographs are outstanding. Two further volumes were planned but never were published. Bagnall 1884 Hocken 397 A particularly handsome volume with the 40 brightly coloured plates of the indigenous flora of New Zealland.
