The ultimate introductory guide to understanding, diagnosing, and treating arrhythmias for all health care providers
Arrhythmias As Easy As 1-2-3 is ideal for all health care professionals at any level of training and education. The reader is first introduced to the three types of tachyarrhythmias (fast, abnormal heart rhythms):- those that originate in the heart’s atria,
- those that involve the AV node, and
- those that originate in the ventricles of the heart.
A simple three-step method which can be used to diagnose any tachyarrhythmia is then explained. The same process is then used for the understanding and diagnosis of bradyarrhythmias (slow, abnormal heart rhythms).
Additional chapters include paced rhythms, miscellaneous arrhythmias, and the initial treatment of both stable and life-threatening arrhythmias. Designed to be read cover to cover in just an hour or so, this book will none-the-less leave the reader confident in being able to understand, diagnose and initiate treatment for any arrhythmia.
Glenn N. Levine, MD, FACC, FAHA, is a Master Clinician, Professor of Medicine, and Cardiology Section Chief in Houston, Texas. He is recognized nationally and internationally for his expertise in cardiology, and has received numerous local and national teaching and education awards, based in part on his ability to explain complex concepts in simple, easy-to-understand words and illustrations.
Dr Levine has been lecturing on, teaching, and writing about cardiology, including arrhythmia diagnosis and treatment, for three decades, and has used this experience to craft this introductory book. This is Dr. Levine's 16th book.
