Julian Ashworth is a renowned dream architect who specializes in creating therapeutic lucid dreams for trauma victims. For fifteen years, he has built his reputation on two unshakable principles: safety and control. He never works with nightmares, only healing sanctuaries within the landscape of sleep.
This ethical foundation crumbles when a mysterious client named E. Silas approaches him with an extraordinary commission: to design the perfect nightmare. Silas claims to represent government interests and presents compelling evidence that enemy agents with unbreakable psychological conditioning threaten mass casualties. Only a precisely engineered nightmare, he argues, can break through their mental barriers and extract vital intelligence.
Against his better judgment, Julian accepts the commission. As he begins constructing the nightmare—drawing from humanity’s deepest fears and his own subconscious terrors—the work begins to contaminate his waking life. The boundaries between dream and reality blur as impossible geometries and shadow entities from his creation begin manifesting in the physical world.
When Julian tries to sever ties with his client, he discovers that Silas has vanished without a trace. Worse, Julian finds himself trapped with a nightmare that has grown beyond his control, its central mechanism—the Heart of Dread—now pulsing with its own malevolent intelligence.
Desperate to destroy his creation, Julian enters the nightmare one final time, only to discover he has lost all architectural control and is now its prisoner. Pursued through a labyrinth of his own fears by the entities he created, Julian must navigate to the nightmare’s heart while being systematically stripped of his sanity.
At the climax, Julian confronts Silas and learns the horrifying truth: his client is not human but an entity that feeds on fear and has manipulated Julian from the beginning. The nightmare was never intended to break enemy conditioning—it was designed as a feeding mechanism to harvest terror from human consciousness on a global scale.
To save humanity, Julian must destroy the Heart of Dread from within, a process that requires him to absorb every horror his creation contains. He succeeds in dismantling the nightmare and banishing Silas, but the victory comes at a terrible cost.
Julian emerges from the experience fundamentally changed, having absorbed intimate knowledge of fear at its most primal level. Though he returns to his practice of healing dreams, he now secretly plants seeds of carefully calibrated terror in every mind he touches—continuing Silas’s work through different methods. The story ends with Julian as a “guardian of nightmares,” enslaving those he claims to save and ensuring that the cycle of fear continues under new management.
The tale explores themes of corruption through good intentions, the seductive nature of forbidden knowledge, and the psychological cost of fighting monsters—ultimately suggesting that in destroying one form of evil, we may become something far worse.

Returns Policy
We ask all customers to contact us for authorisation should they wish to return their order. Orders returned without authorisation may not be credited.
If you wish to return, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order to obtain authorisation.

Returns requested beyond this time will not be authorised.

If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.

Statutory right to withdraw

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).

We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.

We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.

We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.

We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.

The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. Exceptions to the right of withdrawal

The right of withdrawal does not apply to:

The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
