Second edition (first published 1838). Clean and sound set in publisher's green blindstamped cloth with gilt titles. The first four volumes are text, with some illustrations, and the last four volumes are plates. Most of the plates have some spotting, mainly to the margins - unfortunately the stock used for the plates was susceptible to foxing ( as are plates in contemporary editions of Dickens). Please see images for good and bad examples. On the whole however a wonderful collection of information and images. This was Loudon's most time-consuming and costly work, which ruined him financially. Seller Inventory # 001990
