_____. _____ Large broadside, 22 x 15.25", announcing the establishment of the town of Selman ("A Real Town in a Real Country") in Harper County in western Oklahoma at the start of the panhandle._____ The promoters describe the glowing prospects for the town and promise gold watches and other presents at the auction. _____ "Hurrah! The Buffalo Northwestern R.R. Has Arrived." This railroad company was under the aegis of the Santa Fe. _____ "Selman, Where Nothing Knocks But Opportunity." _____Today, there are no railroads in the county nor is there any highway anywhere near Selman. _____ There is a slug at the bottom indicating that this may have been printed in Hutchinson, Kansas. _____ Very brittle, folded to eighths after issue._____ There are pieces missing from the left edge, though never reaching the border._____ All folds and edges archivally reinforced on the rear._____.
