Print on Demand. This book explores the fascinating history of a dialogue between a Christian and a heathen philosopher, offering a glimpse into the complex intellectual and religious landscape of the early Christian world. The philosopher presents a series of pointed challenges to the Scriptures, raising arguments that directly confront the core tenets of Christian belief. The Christian, in turn, provides detailed answers, drawing upon Scripture, tradition, and philosophical reasoning to refute the philosopherââ â¢s objections. The book unveils the nature of these objections, which often focus on the apparent inconsistencies in the Gospels and the teachings of the Apostles. This engaging historical dialogue serves as a valuable resource for understanding the thought processes of early Christians as they sought to defend their faith in a world dominated by alternative belief systems. The author's comprehensive analysis of this ancient dialogue provides a unique perspective on the intellectual and spiritual challenges facing early Christians and offers enduring insights into the power of faith in the face of skepticism. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

Christ's miracles being first attacked, and then His words, the chief charge being that of inconsistency. There follow like Charges of inconsistency against S. Peter and S. Paul, and then objections are brought to such doctrines as the Incarnation, the Monarchy of God, and the Resurrection. The fragment from Book V suggests that the latter part dealt with some of the more inward doctrines of Christianity, such as justifica tion by faith.1 The method of the book is to give about seven objections in a series, and then their respective answers, with a few words of introduction in each case, especially at the beginning of each book.
