This is the full color edition of The Apocalypse: A Historicist View, containing 32 illustrations, 29 in color. Unlike the futurist view (that says nothing has come to pass yet), the Historicist view (or Now / Historical view) of the Revelation of Jesus to John stresses that it began unfolding quickly (as both John and Jesus repeatedly said it would).
The Apocalypse (meaning Revelation) is easily proven with historical and scientific facts to have been unfolding for over 1700 years, since 312 AD when the sign of Christ appeared in the clouds above Rome. It was a Chi-Rho, the first two letters of Christ in Greek, comprised of an unusual alignment of stars.
That same night, the history books tell us, Jesus appeared to St. Constantine, the first Christian horseman of the Apocalypse, and said "By this, conquer." And that's what Constantine promptly did. After putting the sign on his labarum and his armor, and riding a white horse and carrying a bow, he conquered Rome and all the known world for Jesus and the Church.
After consolidating the empire, he sent his messengers with a trumpet and gathered all the elect of the Church together to his summer palace in Nicea (fulfilling Matthew 24:31). The 300 bishops from all the (known) world, most of them saying they were in heaven, gave us the Nicene Creed which united all the Church as one. Despite St. Paul's wild imagination, most of the bishops rode donkeys, and no one flew through the air.
Fast forwarding to the 4th horseman, we encounter a horseman / conqueror riding a pale looking horse -- which can be none other than George Washington who rode a sickly-looking blue horse named Blueskin. Our weapons truly bring hell and death to the enemies of Jesus, just as foretold.
Fast forwarding to the great tribulation caused by the anti-Christ, we are told that his reign is the third reign of the 6th head of Satan to conquer the Holy Land -- which of was the Roman Empire. In other words, the Revelation is talking about Hitler's Third Reich -- the third six of the 6-6-6 trilogy. The great tribulation (World War II) lasted precisely 3 1/2 years just as foretold (from Pearl Harbor until the death of Hitler).
Fast forwarding to today, we are now experiencing the seven last plagues -- including global warming and deadly new diseases (plagues 4 & 5). Also scary, we are also experiencing the Battle of Ar Mageddon, a great war against "demon-possessed" kings of the East. It began when the Euphrates was dry (on 9/11) just as foretold. We are told that they will be defeated by "exceedingly great hail" weighing 200 pounds." 200 lbs is the smallest of the bombs that have been dropped on them (by U.S. and NATO fighter jets).
Next to happen, when the 7 last plagues have run their course and the last demonic king of the East is removed, a thousand years of Heaven on Earth will commence. There will be no more martyrs we are told, and some people will be raised from the dead, and some people alive today will live to be a thousand years old (as some scientists are likewise predicting)!
This is a quick summary of the Revelation of the future, given by Jesus to His beloved disciple, John. Near the end of the Revelation of the future, we are told that the testament to Jesus being the Son of God is the spirit of prophecy. That is the ultimate purpose of the Revelation of the future -- to increase our faith in God.
May the reader of this commentary be blessed with a greater faith in Jesus, and in God His Father. -- Barry Midyet
