Print on Demand. This book is a passionate indictment of Napoleon Bonaparte's ambitions and the devastation they wrought upon Europe. The author, writing in the early 19th century, seeks to galvanize his countrymen against the French emperor, highlighting the threat Napoleon posed to Spain's independence and sovereignty. The book argues that Napoleon, fueled by insatiable ambition and a ruthless disregard for human life, had become a scourge upon the world, enslaving nations and dismantling traditional power structures. Through a series of historical examples and pointed observations, the author exposes Napoleon's hypocrisy, his use of deception and manipulation to achieve his goals, and the consequences of his actions for both Spain and the European continent. Ultimately, this book serves as a powerful testament to the dangers of unchecked power and the enduring struggle for liberty, a struggle that resonates even in modern times. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

- Modern History of Europe
This valuable little work was originally written in bpanish, by a worthy patriot, Don Antonio de Capmany, -to awaken the energies of his country men, and to unite them in the glorious cause of their independence against the tyrannical usurper of Europe. It was written for Spaniards, but it well de serves the particular attention of all nations, as it is truly a Sentinel, who, watching their liberties, now sounds the alarm on the approach of the enemy, and points out to them the deceitful arts 'he makes use of, in his attach'against their political existence, and the direful consequences of trusting to his words and promises. Americans read it with attention, and learn that your security depends more on a perfect knowledge of his wily politics, and a firm determination not to be deceived by them, than on the distance which separates you, at present from his infernal grasp.
