Add to basketJake, at 12 years old, sat up in his bed in the tree house and rubbed sleep from his eyes. He was awakened by the sound of a crash that came from the main house where his best friend Perry and his family slept. Jake's eyes drifted to the green plastic alarm clock that rested beside his bed.
02:55am.
"Gee, who's up this late?" Jake thought to himself as he flipped his Fantastic Fuji branded pillow over. He was drifting back to sleep when another loud noise boomed from the orange paneled house. The noise was followed by the barks of Marshy, Perry's Marshmallow pup. It caused a chorus of mews, yips, and barks to resound throughout the village.
Filled with a sense of alarm, adrenaline flooded Jake's body, shocking him awake. He was fully alert as he shot out of bed, knocking his sheets onto the wood slabbed floor. Jake quickly slid his wooden sword out from under his pillow before taking hold of the frayed rope that dangled down through the tree house hatch door and darted across the yard to the main house, where he would come face to face with someone that would change his life forever.
