Excerpt from An Answer to the Criticisms of "Christianity and Its Bible": And a Discussion of the Baptist Position and the Question of Honesty

The critic having been silenced on the one charge brings other and perhaps graver charges against the book in a pamphlet of 15 pages, entitled: A Critique of Christianity and the Bible, by Pastor E. J. Grant. This pamphlet. Advertised in the Maritime Baptist. Is not only being circulated industriously among the members of Mr. Waring's congregation in Halifax, but is being sent to many of the ministers and laymen of the Baptist denom ination in the Maritime Provinces. Mr. Grant would pro bably admit that the olfact of the pamphlet upon the average man who has not read the book would be to pre judice him most strongly against the author of Christianity and I-ts Bible. The Maritime Baptist. In an editorial commenting on Mr. Grant's critique. States 'lf any one reads Mr. Grant's Critique without having read Mr. Waring's book, he may not unnaturally reach the conclusion that Christianity and its Bible is a book characterized by dangerous tendencies and much pernicious doctrine. Those who wish to reach an unprejudiced conclusion in the matter may with profit read both the book and the Critique.' That Mr. Grant's pamphlet is calculated to ln ﬂame and arouse a very bitter feeling against the author of Christianity and Its Bible, especially among those who have not read the book or who have read it hastily is undeniable. A prominent medical doctor. A member of a Baptist church in one of the towns of Nova Scotia. In a letter dated Feb. 1sth, wrote me among other things the following, which I quote as showing the effect of the pamphlet upon the mind of one of our leading and in telligent laymen. 'l have received a pamphlet purporting to be a criticism of Christianity and its Bible, by Pastor E. J. Grant. Careful readers with little or no knowledge of the subject will feel an injustice is being done to Mr. Waring, for upon its face it is an attack and not a critique. There are many others who will know that this so called critique completely ignores Mr. Waring's declared purpose in his book, continually avoids the prim ary issue raised in the first of the book and persistently misrepresents the positions taken by Mr. Waring through out the book. Thore are, however, many others who will feel that this production has annihilated Mr. Waring's theology, his book and his inﬂuence, hardly leaving even a memory in their minds of his temerity in ventur ing to express his belief.'

Returns Policy
We ask all customers to contact us for authorisation should they wish to return their order. Orders returned without authorisation may not be credited.

Statutory right to withdraw

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).

We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.

We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.

We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.

We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.

You shall send back the goods or hand them over to PBShop.store US, Springfield Gardens, New York, U.S.A., +44 1285 712917, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. Exceptions to the right of withdrawal

The right of withdrawal does not apply to:

The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
