Print on Demand. This book details extensively the vast array of rust fungi collected in Guatemala. The primary focus of the book is to identify and describe the species of rusts found in the area. However, it also gives insight into the broader context of these fungi. There are descriptions of the rusts and their hosts along with when and where the specific samples were collected. The author describes the history of rust fungi collections in Guatemala, from the early 20th century to the time of this book's publication. One of the main themes is the connection between rust fungi and the plants they infect. The author discusses the relationship between the two and how it affects the surrounding ecosystem. Overall, this book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in rust fungi, particularly in the context of Guatemala. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

Both rusts and hosts are alphabetized in a single list. The collee tions are cited by Departments rather than by localities, the collee tors and their numbers are listed but dates of collection are omitted. In case of the Big Four only the initial precedes the number. Thus, numbers preceded by H, J, K, or S were collected, respectively, by Holway, Johnston, Kellerman or Standley. Other collectors' names are given in full.
