Anglo Saxon Wolverhampton: The Town and its Monastery, by D. Hooke PhD and T. R. Slater PhD, published by the Libraries and Community Services Division of Wolverhampton Borough Council in 1986. This softback local history booklet covers the Anglo-Saxon origins of Wolverhampton and its monastery, with maps, line drawings and black and white illustrations supporting the text. The cover carries a watercolour-style illustration of the church exterior with a carved stone pillar in the foreground, with the title lettered in grey above. The title page confirms the subtitle 'The Town and its Monastery' alongside the authors' names and the Wolverhampton Leisure Services logo. The covers show some wear and surface marking consistent with age, with light rubbing to the edges and corners. The spine shows a touch of handling wear. Internally the pages photographed are clean, with clear black text on white paper and sharp reproduction of the maps and diagrams shown.
