About this Item
. Paperback. 1940-1945. A collection of 32 rare publications from the War Years. The Fabian Society is a socialist organisation, founded in London in 1884, having as its goal 'the establishment of a democratic socialist state in Great Britain'. Members of the Fabian Society put their faith in evolutionary socialism rather than in revolution. The Society has since its nception been affiliated with the (British) Labour Party. The Anglo-French Co-operation Committee was founded c.1940 to keep a close relationship between French socialists, trade unionists and other democrats based in Great Britain and, where possible, due to invasion, others in France during the War Years. Commitee members included G.D.H & Margaret Cole, RHS Crossman, and John Parker M.P. 'Britain and France' was a bi-monthly bulletin/supplement produced between 1940 and c. 1945, provided news and comment on happenings in France. The collection includes 32 editions, including the first which was a supplement in the The New Statesmen, 29 Jun 1940. Further details on request. . . . . Seller Inventory # KSG0012666
