It’s Paris, at the beginning of the 2000s. An angel falls in love with Dixi, a fragile girl who works as a model. Born into a wealthy French family with bourgeois roots, Dixi has had to bring herself up, a girl lost in a chaotic life with neither rules nor future, and now at the mercy of a gypsy with whom she is hopelessly in love and who drags her, playing with her feelings, into a series of dark events. The spirit, Alan, follows her everywhere, until he reveals himself to her; “You have to observe yourself when you feel a painful emotion, because that is the door to self-awareness.” Nothing is ever forgotten, but things are transformed, transmuting the lead of despair into the gold of understanding.
An intimate story that does not debase itself with saccharine feelings and a glamorous cover. In today’s Paris that is forever a timeless capital, with an angel that seems to have remained in a pre-enlightenment world. For Dixi drawn of legend and of dreams… life and the depths of souls that open wide breath of the world. CORRIERE DELLA SERA
“An author capable of making the imagination gallop a thousand, without borders. Melanie Francesca is a surprise, above all and first of all, for her extraordinary ability, melodiously and dreamily expressed, to build emotional scenarios that are rooted in every myth and every time. A female James Joyce to sip to open the doors beyond our unconscious.” ELLE
“The Angel” offers readers an opportunity to rise above the noise and chaos of everyday life, exploring the orderly spaces of the soul and the deep emotions of love. “The Angel” reflects Melanie’s bond to weaving spirituality and contemplation into her artistry, a theme that has consistently permeated her career. HARPER BAZAAR
Francesca has set her novel in a dark, gothic atmosphere, a rock music like Jim Morrison's words that return frequently to remind us that nothing is as solid as it seems, to break the patterns with which we are used to seeing the world. Francesca enchants her readers to see the world from a spiritual view, where in, Dixi's story begins in the early 2000's Paris, where she is born into a wealthy french family. ELLE INDIA
With “The Angel,” Melanie helps the reader to wear a pair of magical lenses to see the world from a spiritual point of view and solve the problems of their existence. Through the narrative form of a novel, the author guides people to make contact with themselves and their inner wounds by solving what they can change in the course of their existence. It’s an intense, passionate, sometimes carnal book that warns people about their wrong choices, trying to make them understand the reasons for certain toxic addictions, over all the emotional ones, in honor of a healthier life. The book leads people to forgiveness in its truest and deepest sense.” MARIECLAIRE

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
