From the Author:
Whimsical tales about animals, people and values
Angels and Donkeys
This book of tales for Christmas and other times is for the young and the young-at-heart, age 7... to 100! Its author — my father, French Pastor Andre Trocme — was an idealist and a superb storyteller. He used whimsical happenings involving people and animals (How did donkeys get the spirit of contradiction?) to convey messages of nonviolence and commitment.
I remember him pacing back and forth, crafting his stories as much with his hands and his expressions as with his voice, as he addressed the children's Sunday school in front of the huge church Christmas tree in the French village where I grew up, le Chambon sur Lignon.
He taught all who heard him the importance of values, and helped give them the inspiration and strength they needed to help thousands of refugees during World War II.
These values are eternal: They remain relevant — and essential — in our world today.
Angels and Donkeys is ideal for reading aloud during family gatherings. It can also be used as a source for teachings and discussions. It's a wonderful gift to offer to friends and relatives, and their children.
