When Andy builds his own gaming computer, young readers discover exactly how a PC comes together, from choosing a motherboard to installing the operating system. Learn why the CPU is called the "brain" of the computer, how liquid cooling keeps a gaming rig from overheating, and why NVMe SSDs load games faster than a traditional hard drive.
This hands-on guide breaks down every major PC component and building step, making it a valuable resource for young gamers and future computer engineers.
In this book, you will discover:
- How to choose the right case, motherboard, CPU, and cooling system for a gaming build
- Why RAM capacity, speed, and dual-channel setup affect gaming performance
- The differences between SSD, NVMe, and HDD storage options
- How to select a graphics card, power supply, monitor, keyboard, and mouse
- Step-by-step instructions for cable management, BIOS setup, and installing Windows
- Essential online safety tips for kids who love gaming
This PC building adventure combines storytelling with real computer hardware knowledge, giving young learners a hands-on introduction to STEM careers in computer engineering and technology.
This book is perfect for:
- Young gamers curious about building their own computer (ages 8-14)
- Teachers building STEM curriculum around computer science or technology units
- Homeschool families looking for hands-on computer hardware resources
- Future computer engineers who want to understand what's really inside a PC
