VINTAGESTAN BOOKS Title: Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture. Old Testament VIII. Psalms 51 - 150 Summary: Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture (ACCS), Old Testament VIII: Psalms 51–150 is a patristic commentary volume that gathers how early Christian writers interpreted the latter half of the Psalter. Rather than offering modern critical analysis, it presents Scripture as read, prayed, and preached in the early church. The volume aims to show how the Church Fathers understood Psalms 51–150 in theological, moral, liturgical, and Christological ways. The commentary is arranged verse by verse, with short excerpts from early Christian authors placed alongside the biblical text. This volume presents Psalms 51–150 as a guide for repentance, Christological faith, moral formation, and worship, as understood by the early Church, revealing the Psalms as both deeply personal prayers and a prophetic witness to Christ and his Church.
