Anatomy & Physiology Essentials is the only introductory A&P text in which chapters are divided into discrete sections. These smaller sections make it easy to review content in manageable chunks for maximum understanding. In addition, extensive end-of-section assessment activities enable you to evaluate how well you have learned and retained the content.
To make the text relevant and interesting, Anatomy & Physiology Essentials includes the following features:
- Clinical case studies at the beginning of each chapter provide an intriguing look at how the information in the chapter relates to the real world of healthcare. Questions at the end of the chapter help you connect the disease or disorder in the case study to the chapter material.
- Clinical applications provide a focus on current issues related to the human body and all of its systems. Reading these applications will help you gain insights about how concepts relate to healthcare practices.
- Notes about ongoing research highlight ongoing scientific studies related to human anatomy and physiology. This information add greater understanding to the relevance of content.
- Understanding Medical Terminology boxes explain the meaning of medical terms, provide insights about why certain structures and medical conditions are named as they are, and provide helpful hits for remembering the terms.
- Word-building notes and exercises help extend your understanding of medical terminology. These activities reinforce and improve your ability to “decode” medical words and phrases.
Anatomy & Physiology Essentials presents a solid introduction to human anatomy and physiology, providing a comprehensive basis for students exploring different career opportunities within the healthcare industry.
